Baseball and Softball has been in the local community for more than 40 years. Gresham Barlow Youth Baseball / Softball values the process of learning fundamentals by instilling determination, courage and teamwork from TeeBall to High School age players. We are a volunteer organization utilizing involvement of adults sharing our common passion of community and excellence.

GBYBS Baseball and Softball Programs


Lower Division: The primary objective of the lower division is to enable players to learn the basic fundamentals of baseball in a fun and stimulating environment. The focus is on developing their skills to help them be the best players they can be, both on and off the field, while maintaining a healthy approach to being competitive.

PeeWee (coach pitch): Coaches toss the ball to a batter for them to hit, and if needed a tee is utilized to ensure all players have a chance to hit the ball each time they are at bat. Players wanting to extend the season can register for PeeWee Summer ball in June & July... Read more




Upper Division: 
The primary objective of our Upper division is to help players progress from a pitching machine to kid pitch and then to advanced play with base stealing and lead offs. Along the way, players focus on development of proper technique in hitting, fielding, base running and pitching along with the intangible skills of being a good teammate. 

Rookies (machine pitch): Makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished, making the game safer and improving playing confidence. Players have their first opportunity to register for tournament play during our summer season... Read more

Minors (kid pitch): Players continue to build and refine their skills while beginning to understand game strategy and teamwork. They will also have their first opportunity to learn pitching and throw from a mound. Players can also register for our summer season with several tournaments including state, regional and world series opportunities... Read more

Majors (advanced kid pitch): At the majors level, advanced pitching and strategy are at play with some teams beginning to utilize lead offs and pickoff plays along with an occasional over the fence home run. Players have the opportunity to register for our summer season with several tournaments including state, regional and world series opportunities... Read more

 


Seniors Division: 
A great option for players to want to continue their baseball playing experience beyond Cal Ripken, regardless of participation on a local high school team. All Senior Division teams play with official baseball (high school) rules with 90' base paths and 60' 6" pitching distance.



Volunteering and Board of Directors: 
We are always looking for additional support through a variety of areas including Coaches, Team Parents, Umpires, Score Keepers, Concessions, Fields, Fundraising, Division Directors, Communications, Social Media and more!  Read more
