 13th Annual Coaches Clinic

hosted by Friends of Baseball and presented by Mariners On BASE

Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Multnomah Athletic Club

12:30-5:30pm, registration opening at 12pm

Based on feedback from past participants,  we have added new breakout sessions this year to meet the specific needs of youth coaches. Check out the line up of sessions below:

2020 Coaches Clinic Key Note Speakers: 

“More Than the Score: Coaching to Affirm Diversity” - Seattle Educator, Author, and Youth Baseball Coach, Jessie Hagopian, "Double Goal Coaching" - Positive Coaching Alliance Trainer, Joe Thomas of Coaching Legacy

2020 Breakout Sessions: 

Session 1 (Coaches choose to attend one) 

Coaching Baseball: The Love of the Game” - Mark Zender, Seattle Mariners Grand Slam Camps

Coaching Softball” - James Lambert, Varsity Head Coach Beaverton High School Softball, President Oregon Blaze Fast Pitch & 18U Gold Coach

Coaching Beginners” - Friends of Baseball's Full Count Founders, Jason Scott and Nova Newcomer, and Full Count Mentors Gerald Bolden and Chad Garber

Session 2 (Coaches choose to attend one) 

"Baseball Pitching" - Kevin Gunderson, Gunderson Pitching Academy

"Softball Pitching" - Sue Oran, Strictly Sports Productions

"League Administrators: Growing your League, Player Outreach Strategies, and Fundraising Opportunities" - panel moderated by Nova Newcomer, Executive Director, Friends of Baseball

Session 3 (Coaches choose to attend one) 

"Baseball Hitting" - Anthony Manuel, former MLB player and current coordinator of MLB's "Returning Baseball to InnerCity" (RBI) Program 

"Softball Hitting" - Shawna Wright, Softball Academy

Our popular "Free Coaches Store" will be stocked with an amazing array of brand new (and some gently used) baseball and softball equipment, that will be sure to be utilized by your league. (We'll be extending early bird shopping invites to leagues that serve a high percentage of low income youth, and all leagues will be invited to "shop" during clinic breaks.)
