Cal Ripken Division: The primary objective of our Cal Ripken division is to help players progress from a pitching machine to kid pitch and then to advanced play with base stealing and lead offs. Along the way, players focus on development of proper technique in hitting, fielding, base running and pitching along with the intangible skills of being a good teammate.
Rookies (machine pitch): Makes use of a pitching machine to allow for more hittable balls at the plate and more action in the field. Fear of actually being hit by a pitched ball is diminished, making the game safer and improving playing confidence. Players have their first opportunity to register for tournament play during our summer season... Babe Ruth Division: A great option for players to want to continue their baseball playing experience beyond Cal Ripken, regardless of participation on a local high school team. All Babe Ruth teams play with official baseball (high school) rules.
Juniors (age 13-15): Playing baseball on a 90' baseball diamond is a huge benefit to playing Babe Ruth Baseball. This allows serious baseball players a year on this field size before trying out for a high school team.
